Sucker

"I guess this is where we part.
Thanks for the lollipop."

The lollipop was sweet,
But it did not nourish
And now he went off searching
For something to devour
Which would rid his mouth
Of that bitter aftertaste.

It was just too sweet
To eat all at one time,
But instead of spreading
His moment into (h)ours,
He ravaged it quite quickly,
Leaving just a stick
To fall upon the ground.
